Highschoolathletes.com is the product of one man's inspiration to revolutionize collegiate athletic recruiting in the 21st century. Founder Matt Ekins was a multi-sport, all state athlete from Lehi, Utah. Upon graduation from high school he received several scholarship offers from local colleges and universities but realized his exposure to larger, more prestigious schools and athletic programs would be limited because he was an athlete from a small rural community.
Ekins went on to play college football but the experience motivated him to find a better way for high school athletes to move forward to the next level. In this quest the answer became clear. Utilize modern technology to enhance the age old process of athletic recruiting.
Now athletes from all over the world can benefit from the opportunity to attend major universities with athletic scholarships, despite the size of their high school or hometown, because their exposure will be unlimited. College coaching staffs can better utilize time and money by scouting athletes worthy of their time and recruiting efforts by virtue of Highschoolathletes.com. Now, by use of Highschoolathletes.com, athletes are allowed a forum to showcase their talent and contact schools they are interested in.
Highschoolathletes.com began with web design in 2004 and was launched in December of 2005. It boasts a unique and exciting Scout program where individuals can serve as an affiliate scout to sign up athletes in return for pay on a commission basis.
In addition to the benefits above Highschoolathletes.com also offers Area Manager positions for those extremely successful Scouts that wish to take their career to the next level.
Matt Ekins and his wife Loni now make their home in Front Royal, Virginia. They enjoy attending local high school and collegiate athletic events as well as professional football games in the area. They enjoy playing one-on-one basketball together and going to the movies.
